How to Add a Tagged Contact to Another Tag in ChatSilo

This tutorial shows you how to assign an already-tagged Facebook contact to an additional tag in ChatSilo, giving you more flexibility in how you organize your conversations.

Step 1: Open ChatSilo Inside Facebook Messages

Make sure you're logged into your Facebook account and navigate to facebook.com/messages. Then, click the ChatSilo extension icon in your browser's toolbar to launch the extension panel.

Note: ChatSilo must be active on facebook.com/messages to display your contacts and tags correctly.

Step 2: Open the Relevant Tag

Inside the ChatSilo extension panel, locate the Tags section. Click on the tag that currently contains the contact you want to assign to another tag.

Tip: If you have many tags, scroll through the list to find the right one. Tag names are displayed in the order they were created.

Step 3: Open the Contact Menu

Find the contact you want to add to another tag. Click the three-dot menu (⋯) to the right of their name, then select Add to Tag from the dropdown menu that appears.

Note: If you don't see the three-dot menu, try hovering over the contact's row — the menu icon may only appear on hover.

Step 4: Select the New Tag and Confirm

A popup window will appear showing your available tags. Check the checkbox next to the tag you want to add the contact to — for example, "Friends" — then click the Update Tag button to save your selection.

Tip: You can select more than one tag in this popup if you want to assign the contact to multiple tags at once.

Step 5: Confirm the Contact Was Added

After clicking Update Tag, a confirmation notification will briefly appear on the screen to let you know the contact has been successfully added to the new tag.

You're all set! 🎉

You've successfully added a contact to an additional tag using the ChatSilo Chrome extension on facebook.com/messages. Keep using tags to build a well-organized contact system that makes your outreach faster and more targeted.
