How to Create a New Tag Directly from a Facebook Contact or Profile

You don't need to leave your current page or navigate back to the ChatSilo extension panel every time you want to create a new label. ChatSilo allows you to create and apply new tags directly from any supported Facebook interface, including a contact's profile, your friends list, or your messages inbox.

Follow this quick guide to set up a brand-new tag without interrupting your workflow.

Step 1: Click the "+" button on the contact's profile

Navigate to the Facebook contact's profile page. In the navigation tabs bar (next to Posts, About, and Friends), locate the purple (+) icon added by ChatSilo and click it to open the tag management popup.

Tip: If you do not see the (+) icon on Facebook pages, make sure the ChatSilo extension is active and pinned in your browser toolbar.

Step 2: Click "Add Tag" in the popup

When the tag selection modal appears, you will see a list of your existing tags. Click the Add Tag button in the top-right corner of the dialog.

Step 3: Name and save your new tag

An input field will appear below the tag list:

1. Type your desired label name into the field (for example, "Colleagues 1").
2. Click the green Save Tag button to store your new tag.

Step 4: Confirm the tag appears on the profile

Once saved, the new tag will be automatically created and assigned to the contact. You will see the tag pill displayed directly on the contact's profile bar.

Note: Any tag created on the fly is instantly synchronized across ChatSilo. It will now be visible in your main extension panel and available to assign to other contacts from your messages or friends list.
