How to Tag a Contact From Facebook Profile in ChatSilo

This tutorial shows you how to assign one or more tags to an individual contact directly from their profile card—quickly and without needing to open the full ChatSilo extension dashboard.

Step 1: Click the "+" button next to the contact

Navigate to your Facebook friends list or contact directory. Locate the person you want to organize and click the purple + button (❶) next to their name to open the quick-tagging panel.

Step 2: Select your tags and click "Update Tag"

In the tag selection popup that appears:

1. Select the checkbox next to the tag you wish to apply (❶)—for example, Chatsilo Customers.
2. Click the Update Tag button (❷) below the list to save your choice.

Tip: You can select multiple tags at once to assign this contact to multiple categories. If the tag you need doesn't exist yet, type a name in the top search field and click Add Tag to create it on the spot. Any tag created here will also be saved to your master tag list inside ChatSilo.

Step 3: Confirm the tag was applied

Once saved, a green notification banner will confirm: "New tag assigned successfully." (❶). The contact's card will immediately display the new tag pill (❷) right next to their profile details.

Note: If the tag pill doesn't display immediately, simply refresh your browser page to sync.

Next Steps

Your contact is now tagged. You can view them anytime inside your ChatSilo dashboard, filter your Messenger conversations by this tag, or include them in targeted messaging workflows.
